1 year 4 months 12 days back I joined IT world. Since then I have been setting new goals and finding ways to do it. But throughout the journey I forgot to set and achieve my life goals. Through introspection, I realized that I am not even sure of my expectations from my life. So weird! What are my personal goals? What I want to achieve? How I want my future life to be? Well, I am still asking myself for the answers.
I still doubt if someone really thinks of setting up goals for their life and work on achieving it. I believe no one really does that. Are we only supposed to meet our goals in office for our appraisals? I don't think life goals and work goals are same and if both are different why do we only concentrate on latter. May be we are so involved in work goals that we never think of life goals. Do we really need life goals? My mind says: Yes, life goals are much more important. Obviously, achieving work goals will make you rich but achieving life's goals will lead to internal satisfaction and happiness. When you grow old, life goals is what will make you happy. If you forget to achieve those, you will always regret and wish to be back to the past and make changes for better future.
So why not start right away to think for your life goals and give your best to achieve it. Even if you will achieve a small goal of life, it will make you much happier than happiness which comes from earning. Many would not agree on my thought but I would suggest re-think.
Setting goals of life:
- Visualize yourself at the age of 60-70 years
- Think what you wanted in life
- Once you get the answers, try to figure out the way to achieve it
- Give your best to achieve it and avoid all distractions
No dream is big, if you can dream, you can achieve it too. :)
